The Art of Harmony, Pattern & Listening

Music is the study of harmony, rhythm, and pattern.
It teaches timing, coordination, and the importance of listening as much as expressing. Freemasons have long valued music as a reminder that individual parts must work together to create something meaningful.

Your Task

  • In 750–1,000 words, reflect on an experience where harmony—or lack of it—made a difference.
  • You may draw from:
    • Band, choir, or orchestra
    • Dance or theater
    • Music production or composition
    • Teamwork in group projects
    • A non-musical situation where coordination mattered

Consider:

  • How listening affected the outcome
  • How individual roles contributed to the whole
  • What you learned about cooperation and timing

You do not need formal musical training. Everyday harmony counts.
